Privacy Policy
Notera is built to be private by design. This page tells you exactly what that means.
What we collect
Nothing. Notera does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party.
Where your data lives
Every note, section, checklist item, folder, tag, and setting you create is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. If you are signed in to iCloud, your data is also synced through your private CloudKit database to your other signed-in Apple devices.
The CloudKit private database is part of your personal iCloud account. Apple cannot read its contents, and the developer of Notera has no access to it — the CloudKit Dashboard for a private database exposes only the schema, never the records. There is no Notera server in the loop.
Accounts
Notera has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. iCloud sync uses your existing Apple Account, managed by the operating system.
Network
The only network traffic Notera generates is to Apple's CloudKit service, to sync your private notes between your own devices. No other servers are contacted.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
None. No analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no crash reporting service, no third-party trackers of any kind.
Third-party services
Notera does not integrate with any third-party services. The only platform service used is Apple CloudKit, which is part of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
Children's privacy
Because no data is collected by the developer, Notera is safe for users of any age. We comply with COPPA and similar regulations by default — there is nothing to collect from anyone.
Your rights
Because all data stays in your iCloud account or on your device, you are in full control. To delete everything from a single device, uninstall the app. To delete everything across all your devices, sign in to iCloud Settings and remove Notera's data from your iCloud storage, or use Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Notera on your device.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Notera handles data, this page will be updated and the version of the app introducing the change will mention it in its release notes.
